IMAGINE AMERICA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEWLY ELECTED BOARD MEMBERS
Washington, D.C. (June 19, 2008) – Inspiration and understanding. A commitment to
education and innovation. Allegiance and leadership. These are qualities newly elected
members bring to the Imagine America Foundation’s 2008-2009 Board of Directors. As in
years past, IAF’s board members will be responsible for guiding the research- and
scholarship-providing arm for the career college sector throughout the coming year.
“Each elected official brings years of experience to the table,” said Imagine America
Foundation President Robert L. Martin. “These newly appointed board members have
shown overwhelming dedication to the Imagine American Foundation as well as the career
college sector.”
The following are the new additions to IAF’s Board of Directors:
- Danny Finuf, president of Brown Mackie Colleges/EDMC. With over 18 years of experience, Finuf oversees BMC’s 20 campuses nationwide.
- Russell T. Freeman, president of Coyne American Institute in Chicago. Freeman served on the Career College Association’s board from 1995-2001.
- Keith Zakarin, co-chair of Duane Morris’ Education Practice Group. Zakarin practices in the area of civil litigation and has a strong national presence in the representation of private, postsecondary schools and colleges.
Martin said he is looking forward to the coming year and the enthusiasm the new board members will bring.
“The new board members were selected because they are truly dedicated to the Imagine America Foundation’s mission,” Martin said. “They are committed to the organization and deeply care about the students.”
IAF’s board also includes: Joe Davis, MedTech College; Michael Platt, Ad Venture Interactive; Jim Gessner, Duluth Business University; Sabrina Kay, Fremont College; Harris Miller, Career College Association; Craig Quigley, Lockheed Martin; and Dennis Spisak, McGraw-Hill Career College Division.
The departing board members are: Kathleen DeLaski, The Sallie Mae Fund, and Ellis Gedney, Ex'pression College for the Digital Arts.
