IMAGINE AMERICA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES OUTSTANDING LDRSHIP AWARD HONOREES
Las Vegas, Nev. (June 27, 2008) – It takes a certain type of individual to stand tall in the
face of adversity. Six career college students have done just that. These six leaders have
demonstrated a tremendous will to succeed during their military service to the nation in
these challenging times. These remarkable qualities are the same attributes they have
applied while pursuing their college education and career goals.
The Imagine America Foundation and Lockheed Martin will honor these exceptional
young men and women returning from military service with up to $5,000 in cash grants
toward completing their current career education with the 2008 LDRSHIP Award.
As part of the annual Career College Association Convention and Exposition, the
Imagine America Foundation will host the 2008 LDRSHIP Awards at a sit-down
luncheon from noon to 2:15 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Las Vegas, Nev.,
Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The Imagine America Foundation is the research and
scholarship-providing arm of the career college sector. A key corporate supporter of the
Award is Lockheed Martin.
The 2008 military leaders being honored are:
- Sarah Ambrozik - U.S. Army, DeVry University, Miramar, Fla.
- Wayne Geldbach - U.S. Army, Everest University, Largo, Fla.
- Raymond Havnen, Jr. - U.S. Air Force, Vatterott College, St. Louis, Mo.
- Sokmaly Prak - U.S. Army, ITT Technical Institute, King of Prussia, Pa.
- Edwin RamosRey - U.S. Army, Heritage Institute, Jacksonville, Fla.
- Michael Vera - U.S. Marines, DeVry University, Arlington, Va.
“It’s a privilege to honor the 2008 LDRSHIP recipients with this award,” said Robert L. Martin, Imagine America Foundation president. “For their admirable and courageous service to our country, we extend deepest appreciation. It’s now our turn to give something back to them.”
The LDRSHIP Award, standing for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage, is available to honorees who are active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or are retired military personnel. In order to qualify for the award, honorees must maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average and at least a 95% attendance record at an Imagine America participating institution.

Moosally, President of Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors. “These scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving men and women who have served the nation in uniform and are now pursuing a college degree to continue their service.”
