FEATURE STORY
Message from the President
Welcome to the first issue of our new quarterly online newsletter, Inside Imagine America! As supportive and involved counselors, career colleges, sponsors and friends, you are an integral part of our community, and we are launching Inside Imagine America to keep you informed of what is happening within the Foundation. In the coming issues, look for new information on scholarship opportunities for high school students, military personnel, adult learners and online/distance learning students. We will also share the success stories of these students, showcase the career colleges and organizations that serve them, and highlight the growing trends in the postsecondary education sector.
Established as the research and public education affiliate of the Career College Association, the Imagine America Foundation (formerly the Career College Foundation) has been serving the career college community for over 24 years. The national leader for scholarship programs available for those pursuing a career education, Imagine America has met with immense praise since its launch in 1998. In its first year, it was the recipient of the Summit Award from the American Society of Association Executives for its "innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship, and community service."
Through its four major scholarship and award programs — Imagine America for high school students, Imagine America II for current career college students, the Military Award Program (MAP) for military personnel and the new Imagine America Online for online/distance learners — the Foundation has awarded over $35 million in financial assistance. With programs like these and its widely recognized postsecondary educational research, the Foundation has grown to support more than 525 career colleges across the United States and Puerto Rico. To find out more about the Imagine America Foundation and the Imagine America scholarship and award programs, visit our scholarships web site at www.imagine-america.org.
We believe you will find our online newsletter both helpful and useful in your day-to-day interaction with students. We welcome your ideas and contributions in shaping the future of Inside Imagine America. We hope that Inside Imagine America will continue to grow and change with your input over the next few issues. Let us know what you think by sending us an e-mail at IANewsletter@career.org.
Best wishes,

Robert L. Martin
President, Imagine America Foundation
