FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS

Military students respond to Imagine America

by Chris Carroll

The Imagine America Foundation recently conducted a survey of our 2006-2007 Military Award Program (MAP) recipients. All participants were asked a series of questions related to MAP and their enrollment status. We’d like to share the results:

Servicemen and -women

• 93 percent of students who received the MAP award enrolled in the school that granted the award.

• 94 percent of students who received the MAP award and enrolled have either already completed their program of study or are currently enrolled.

• 94 percent of students rated their overall experience with MAP as either a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 being “Poor” and 5 being “Amazing”).

• 98 percent of students responding chose “Likely,” “Very Likely” or “Definitely” when asked if they would recommend the program to a friend.

We find these results to be extremely encouraging. With 265 schools already signed up to participate in the 2007-2008 MAP year, we believe this will be our best year yet!

It’s not too late to enroll your school in the Imagine America Military Award Program. MAP is a national aid program that was established in 2004 by the Imagine America Foundation. This $1,000 career education award is available to qualified active duty or reservist personnel or honorably discharged or retired veterans of a United States military service branch for attendance at a participating career college. This scholarship can help those with military service receive a career education and make the transition from military to civilian life. For more information, please contact Chris Carroll at chrisc@career.org.

To view a listing of career colleges that participate in MAP, or to apply for this award, visit the "Prospective Military Student" section of our web site at www.imagine-america.org.
